Centrotus

Fabricius, 1803

The genus Centrotus counts two European species which are recognized by the shape of the pronotum which has two appendages side wards and one long posterior appendage. While Centrotus cornutus can be found all over Europe, Centrotus chloroticus can only be found in Mediterranean area.

-      Length 4-6 mm, pronotum partly brown and strongly undulating -> Centrotus chloroticus

-          Length 7-10 mm, pronotum uniformly grey colored and less undulating -> Centrotus cornutus
